  1. She's just too big...to get under the Lions Gate Bridge at low tide. She has to wait it out. At least her passengers will have a full day in Vancouver. And then she will head out to sea (not Inside Passage).
  2. Several years ago, I booked a cruise to Iceland and Greenland on the Grand when it was first announced. Forward several months. Received a “move over, (sort of) to the Regal. Then again to the Sky. Very disappointed since my heart was set on the Grand. Disappointed, I cancelled. This happens in other industries too. I just reviewed my upcoming flight. I received no notice that the plane equipment was changed from an Airbus 350 to the dreaded Boeing 787. Had to spend a few minutes getting my seat back (they did reassign seat to one that I didn’t want). Princess should have given current passengers notice BEFORE the general public saw the Press Release. Another fail by Princess.
  3. oops...I new there was a "newer" name for the Sun/Star. Thanks @reedprincess for Sphere Class. As I have mentioned in the past, no Royal/Sphere in my immediate future.
  4. No, you are not required to get Princess Insurance.
  5. Princess currently has 4 classes of ships: Panamax Grand/GEM Royal Sun Let's cannibalize all the good from each ship. What would you like this NEW/but old Princess ship to look like? You may not add venues that are currently not on any Princess ship. I'll start (in no particular order): 1. a theater forward and aft to spread out the entertainment 2. Gigi's 3. Grand Class Window Suites on Deck 6 4, International Cafe 5. Crooners, Wheelhouse, Explorer's Lounge 6. Keep the Piazza clear of large events 7. No smoking in the casino Your turn.
  6. With a Family Suite, it IS a FULL suite with all amenities for all and probably cheaper than 2 Reserve Collection Minis (not sure about regular minis) . I believe you only have to pay full price for 2 in one cabin and 2 in the other cabin. If there are other passengers booked under the 3 or 4 sail free, this would apply. Cabin can sleep 7 to 8 passengers. My only objection is that it is on the bow/front of the ship. I believe only Grand/GEM Class ships have these cabins.
  7. At first, I thought your "Live" was started sooo early, until I realized we are already in MAY. haha. Thanks for taking the time to do a live. Best yet, thanks for adding white spaces between your photos. Enjoy your tranAtlantic voyage. I look forward to your updates.
  8. I'm not known to pay attention to small print and details. thanks
  9. That's why I quantified 95% Yes, they wear a "uniform", but it is not the standard crew wear.
  10. If you add Plus or Premier with booking...it is part of the booking fare. It will include a small addition for insurance. Can't remove it later without losing your booking. You can also book a cabin....then add the bundle....and pay an increase in insurance. Or you can buy the bundle on embarkation day without paying for insurance, but run the risk of a rate increase.
  11. To be a little more technical. If they are wearing "uniforms" provided by the ship/laundry, then they are ship employees. (MDR, Customer Service, Room Service, Baristas, maintenance, security, etc). If they are wearing street clothes, then they are 95% vendors: EFFY, Princess stores, "Princess" Fine Arts, guest lecturer's, guest entertainers, ONE/Future Cruise "consultants". etc.
  12. I agree with your post. But that doesn't negate a return to the thread to bring closure to problem. Maybe someone else might have the same/similar situation. 18 hours and counting.
  13. Most not be as urgent as it sounds. OP hasn't returned in 15 hours.
  14. Can you be a little more specific? Like which cruise is he on? Which piece does he need? Is the ship in US ports or foreign? This information may help your get a better answer or a makeshift solution.
  15. Are you working with a TA? I was able to get a re-fare without losing my OBC. She is a skilled TA who knows which questions to ask and who to talk to. She doesn't hang up until she sees that everything is in place. December is a long way off. You have not reached final payment time. Did you put down a non-refundable deposit (mistake #1). Are you from the United States? That can also play a factor in policy.
  16. There is a manager/supervisor. S/He wears the suit (and on the staff board). You will be on this cruise long enough to get to know him/her. There's always a paper trail. That's just blowing smoke.
  17. The Future Cruise Person is able to print out the "order" that was submitted. I did that on my summer cruise for the sister you met (who wasn't with me until October). She doesn't check emails....So I wanted a hard copy. My TA also received notification since same sister doesn't go into her Princess account either). Glad you were able to buy FCDs for everyone else. I think Princess did this since everyone's FCDs expired during the Pandemic. Still, with only a year expiration date, I think (aka Sheldon Cooper) they should allow this nice perk. What's the harm? They will get more bookings. Crossing my fingers that you will see the Northern Lights sometime during your remaining cruise days. Unfortunately, every day will stay lighter and lighter from here forward.
  18. I understand your irritation over the bar charges. I would have escalated this to the Food and Beverage officer, Hotel Manager, or at least the Customer Service Supervisor after the second "error". I would not have taken it out on the crew by removing their gratuities. Thank you for your balanced review. It seems like more and more ships are using the aft dining room for breakfast and lunch. I guess that is a good way to consolidate the crew. I wonder if they are still short staffed? Will it discourage passengers from eating in the MDR and head for other venues?
  19. Book a mini-suite on a Grand Class Ship to get a bigger balcony and a tub/shower combo. I can't remember, but think....that a regular balcony on Caribe Deck 10 has 9 x 9 balconies. Or forward/aft cabins. And this is one of the reasons (balcony size) I have no desire to book a Royal Class ship. Princess doesn't have large showers in balcony and below cabins.
  20. I’m waiting for a class action suit against O.N.E. For their “not 100% transparency”. Above the line. Probably….honest and scrupulously….maybe not so. Buyer Beware
  21. I tried to also do a complimentary dinner on the app. Couldn’t get past choosing the time and date. Error message. Went to the web based “app”. I was able to reserve time and date. Confirmed, no page showing “credit”. Went straight through to payment charge. Checked my Credit Card. Yup….pending payment. I went back in and deleted reservation. Yup….pending negative balance. I’ve never had any luck making pre-cruise reservations. I gave up. Will do it when I board.
