Naomi John Posted February 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2014 I hate to post this. Would rather search, but, yeah. Looking for Magic reviews. I recently found the one with the toddler. Some help. Steakhouse: Booked first night, tie required? I booked on line prior to the cruise, do we still get the free wine? I noted on the entrees' extra charge if order more than one, but what about the "starters". I'm a foodie and would like to try a couple I have seen. No "Guy's " correct? Blue Iguana? Thank you for your responses.
chels2125 Posted February 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Here's a few good ones with pictures: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1597451 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1876015 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1811591 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1719588 No, a tie is not required in the steakhouse. I'm not sure about the additional starters. I skipped the salad and was able to order the crab cakes and french onion soup. Unfortunately, there's no Guy's or Blue Iguana on the Magic. I was really bummed when I found that out. I thought all the new ships would have the 2.0 stuff. There's still a burrito bar (mid lido) that's pretty good and the standard grill with burgers and hot dogs. You will be able to sample some of the Blue Iguana food at the Taste Bar on the promenade deck. Just check your Fun Times to see what restaurant is featured each night. BeautifulPlumage Posted February 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2014 I don't think a tie is ever required in the steak house, just a shirt with a collar and long pants. I've booked first night dinners online twice and both times got the wine. I don't know about the starters. BeautifulPlumage Posted February 23, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Are jeans allowed on Steakhouse if it is not formal. Night? I don't believe so, except possibly on the first night when they are a little more relaxed knowing guests might not have received their luggage in time to change. happy cruzin Posted February 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) Are jeans allowed on Steakhouse if it is not formal. Night? Yes...jeans are allowed any night - except elegant night. Just off of the Miracle - ate there every night - wore nice sweaters and jeans often! Here is one of the links from carnival.com - stating jeans are acceptable non elegant nights. https://secure.carnival.com/Activities/Controls/SteakhouseRequest?icid=CC_Hyperlink_7 Sent from my phone - using the Cruise Critic forums app Edited February 23, 2014 by happy cruzin
Naomi John Posted February 24, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted February 24, 2014 Given the recent fog in Galveston. If we book our Steakhouse reservation for the first night, say 7:30, and the ship is delayed, what happens? Boarding these past few weeks have been between 5-8pm. I know if we get on the ship at 5, (we are platinum), it should not be a problem, but when they board that late, the safety drill is backed up as well. Has this happened before to anyone?
