Please help with REEF FISHING

Just wondering if anyone has experience with the reef fishing excursions. We are trying to decide if it is better to go with the cruise line or do it privately. Any experiences you can share would be appreciated.

We did the Eureka Reef Fishing excursion booked off the Voyager of the Seas. It was a nice trip but not a lot of fish caught even tho we tried several spots. I wonder if the area is overfished b/c others in our group went snorkeling and said they saw very few fish. Not sure if you would have better luck booking on your own.
