janetcbl Posted February 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2014 We have made a number of voyages along the Norwegian coast on the Hurtigruten and are considering a trip circumnavigating Iceland. Has anyone done this? How rough was the ocean on the northern part of the trip? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
BORDER REIVER Posted March 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2014 I think almost any part of any ocean can have it's rough moments. We sailed between Greenland and Iceland in early July 2010 and encountered a force 10 storm. Fortunately, we were on a large ship (P&0's Aurora) and scarcely noticed it, but it wouldn't have been pleasant on a small ship. I would have thought that Fram was well capable of dealing with such conditions though.
