Help - AA changed time of flight in FLL

We were on a flight leaving at 11:00am from FLL to LAX, Now AA changed the time to 10:15am - Is there anyway we can make this flight.

Arriving on Star Princess in Port Everglades at 7am - do not know how early we can get off ship.

Does anyone know the earliest we can get off the ship? How far away is the airport from Dock? Are Vans available as there are 5 of us plus baggage?

 

There is no other flight that will make connection back to Kona, HI.

It's possible IF there are no Customs & Immigration delays... Under normal circumstances disembarkation usually begins around 7:30am or shortly thereafter. Make sure you go to the Purser's office and get early disembarkation tags, you will want to be in the very first group! Do NOT take cruise line transportation, FLL is adjacent to Port Everglades, and there will be a large number of taxis lined up when you leave the terminal. There are some vans, but mostly 4 door sedans. It's only a 5-7 minute drive to the airport terminal, but do get off and get over there ASAP. FLL is a zoo on weekends. It gets overwhelmed and the lines become very long, very quickly!

Make sure your cruiseline knows your flight time and also make sure to inform the ship as you get on. Hopefully, they can put you in the first group to disembark.

 

Also, call AA and talk to them about the situation. They may have another way of getting you home that day that you don't know about and since it is their change they might be willing to work with you.

 

In fact, there is a 1:55 pm flight out of Miami on AA that would get you into Kona that day. Maybe they can switch you to that one.

We are sticking to the 10:15 flight and hopefully can get off 1st.

The later flight from Miami will not make our connection in LA, so this is the only one that will make it, as we have a 4:35p flight to Kona.

I will check in on embarkation day and show our tickets and hope that we can get off 1st - even 8:30am would make it since the airport is so close.

Yes I understand the FLL airport is a zoo.

Francine, Let the Pursers' desk know asap. They will give you Red 1 disembarkation tags. Line up at the door early, have a porter to get you all through customs and get you a cab and you should be fine. I'll talk to you later.
