Carnival Summer Specials - When?

We went on a Carnival Cruise last year and they had some terrific deals. This year, the prices are sky high for the summer. Does anyone know when Carnival starts lowering their prices for summer cruises? Certainly they don't have more cruisers this year. If anything, the recent sick boats normally reduce travelers.

Anyone ever hear from Carnival on when they starts summer specials?

Summer cruises are usually high in price. IMHO, last year many cruises with Carnival were reduced due to the Triumph incident. We got some really cheap cruises.

This year, cheap cruises on Carnival is not the case and we are booked on Princess for less than what we could have booked on Carnival.

As others have said, summer is high season, so prices are usually much higher than at other times of the year. Unfortunately, you may already be a bit late to get the best deals for this summer. Prices are usually the lowest if you book before January which is when the "wave season" for bookings begins. After that, the trend is for inventory to deplete quickly and prices to increase steadily.

Even with all the bad news, Carnival had a record January for new bookings.

Sorry for the pun, but I think you've "missed the boat" for any sale prices for cruises for this summer. Unless you're limited to only cruising during the summer, which is considered a peak season, try expanding your search to other time periods. If you're not finding a cruise that fits your budget by searching on your own, talk to a Carnival PVP or find a knowledgeable cruise specialist in your area that can help you.
