ValerieJo Posted February 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2014 Looking for a decent place to have dinner in the Condado area. Nothing super pricey but decent food. We like Jam Rum but heard they are closed. :( Any suggestions?
Oaktree Posted March 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2014 My favorite is YerbaBuena at 1350 Ashford. Great Mojitos!
trish1c Posted March 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2014 I wish I remembered the name of it. It was so cute. The food was good & it was reasonably priced. It was a few blocks (2-3) behind the La Quinta Inn by a Walgreens.

We like Jam Rum but heard they are closed. :( Any suggestions? We like to eat at Orozco's. Good food and drinks. Nice portions. Decent prices. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nick55 Posted March 9, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2014 La Casita Blanca: We go there every visit and the food is amazing. NOT Fancy, Not amazing service. Just really good authentic local food. Beer served in bottle (need a glass the give you a dixie cup), plastic table cloths, open air windows, menu handwritten on chalk board in spanish. Gets rave reviews from everyone we know that has eatten there. We found it through recommendations from restaurant workers in downtown when we asked where to get really authentic local food. You can do a search on the internet and find pictures and reviews. It is not in old san juan, it is in one of the neighborhhoods just south of the freeway heading back towards the airport Take a cab and make sure to arrange for them to pick you up after. Most will typically give you their number to call them when you are done eating. Its not a typical area for tourists to walk around at night. If you need great personal service or are looking for somewhere to have a fancy meal, skip this place, if it will make you crazy that they don't speak great english or the menu's are in spanish - its not for you!
