bcscot Posted March 4, 2014 Author #26 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Bingo! My initial hypotheses that your original post sounded rather conspiracy theory-ish was spot on! Never let wacky theories and wild conjecturing be tamed by facts, science and expert opinions. ....... Is that like statistics? ;)
cruiserchuck Posted March 4, 2014 #27 Share Posted March 4, 2014 I often get really hot at night on cruises. I always thought it was due to the blankets and comforters being thicker than I am used to at home. When it gets too hot, I just turn down the thermostat. Cindy Posted March 4, 2014 #29 Share Posted March 4, 2014 I've experienced this to some extent on more than one cruise line. To be fair, I like it cold when I'm sleeping, and I run our ceiling fan in our bedroom year-round. I've found that asking my room steward to make the bed with a lightweight blanket helps a lot...in the Caribbean the duvets are just too heavy! I also have a small fan that I take with me when a cruise is local. I find the lighter covers and the air movement solve the problem. I did think it was noticeable on our second (and probably last, at least for a while:() HAL cruise in September. We were in Alaska and it was NOT hot. At bedtime, you could have hung meat in the room it was so cold, but like clockwork I woke up in the middle of the night uncomfortably warm.
