travelling back to port from valldemossa

Hi,

 

We'd like to travel on our own from Palma de Mallorca to Valldemossa. Our present intention is to take a cab from the cruise port to the town. I'd appreciate some help with the following:

 

1. Is it easy to find a cab in Valldemossa for the trip back to the ship?

2. Is a cab the best way to go, or should we take the train back to Palma? If so, where do we find the train and how do we get back to the cruise port from where we get off the train?

3. If anyone has any suggestions to enhance this excursion, I'd love to hear them! (We don't want to spend time touring Palma itself.)
