crazycruzer68 Posted March 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2014 That's sounds so "old school". Since we will in Miami early and not sure about a safe at the hotel I thought this might be a good option. I know I can use these for my S&S account but do you know if I can cash some out when more cash is needed. michaelandjoanne Posted March 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Casino has always cashed them for me in the past. Guest service will also cash them, or apply them to your s&s account.
adams_jb Posted March 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 5, 2014 Guest Services has cashed them for me. DO NOT fill them out, let them do it. I did it one time and made it out to Carnival and they had to get manager to call someone and make some kind of change. It will save you time if you leave it blank unless they tell you to fill it out. Jason
Sparky2 Posted March 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2014 We're also "old school" and travel with Traveler's Cheques. They are easy to cash at the casino or guest services.
jmcancruise Posted March 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2014 We use travellers cheques all the time and find them very convenient
GradUT Posted March 5, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2014 You might be able to cash these out on board the ship, but if you want money while sightseeing in Miami, you will only be able to cash them at a bank--and that will limit you to banking hours, so no nights or weekends. No stores will accept them and while the hotel may accept them for payment, they might not cash them for you. I'm as "old school" as the next person, but I haven't used traveler's checks in over 20 years. They are pretty much dead, dead, dead in the U.S.
crazycruzer68 Posted March 5, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted March 5, 2014 I have no plans on using them while in Miami, but as far as the ship goes they may be be dead, but they will be alive one more week on the Glory!
