A few random questions

Recommended Posts

1. I see where CCL allows boogie boards up to a certain length to be used in port only & stored in the stateroom. I can not find where inflatable rafts or the like are allowed (to be used in port only, we generally don't use the pool on the ship). I'm thinking mainly Half Moon Cay for this. Of course, we would deflate the rafts and store in our room. Just wondering if this has been done and what your experience is?

2. Should a corkscrew be carried in carryon or checked luggage? I know the steward can provide, but I like to be prepared. You know, in case everyone on the ship needed one at the same time :)

3. Along the same preparedness line, has anyone ever taken a small hole punch? And again...carry on or checked?

4.I'm considering carrying on my entire toiletry bag this time. Since I didn't do this last time, I can't remember if cruise ships have the same liquid carry on rules as airlines? It doesn't make a lot of sense that they would, because you're just carrying it to where you'll be staying for the week...but I know rules don't make sense sometimes, too.

These probably seem like silly questions for the seasoned cruiser, but Any help with all of this will be greatly appreciated.

I see kids with inflatable pool toys all the time. Some parents even bring inflatable pools to bathe their kids in or just for them to play in.

You can carry-on liquids on a cruise ship. They do not have the same rules as airlines.

No issue with using your own at HMC, we are bringing our own snorkel equipment.

I bring one each time in my carry on, I don't want to give Carnival a reason to look through my checked luggage.

I took one our very first cruise (on NCL) so I could attach the kids cards to their lanyards, you can bring it or just go to Guest Services/Casino and ask them to punch the hole for you (again I backed it in my carry on-just to avoid them from opening my checked luggage)

No issues with carrying them on. I actually fly with them in my checked bag and then transfer them to my carry-on (I do have my carry-on checked at port due to this) as I take all my toiletries in my carry on-including sunblock (we had an accidental leak on another line and it wasn't pretty, so to avoid this I remove everything).

Hope this helps, Happy Sailing!!

I personally have done this but have read people buy blow up rafts etc at the Dollar Store. Use them at the beach. Them just throw them away so the don't have to lug back on the ship or back home.

Unless you are flying, then it should be put in your checked bag; otherwise, airport security may take it.
