vince_g Posted April 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Chad, Hopefully there will be some family onboard. When my partner and I cruised the Conquest back in December, it was only us and one female couple. We were seated at the same table. Don't know why, but Carnival doesn't really seem to attract the family. It's a great ship and was still a fun time. Have fun. Jasonsterling Posted April 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2004 My Partner and I were on the Conquest in Feb 2002 and there were many gay people on board that cruise. They even held a FOD party. The staff was also very friendly. I think you'll really like the ship if it hasn't changed in the past year. Sensation Feb 2002 Conquest Feb 2003 Elation Sept 2003 Destiny- May 2004!!!! CruisingChad Posted April 7, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 7, 2004 So who sets up a FOD party? That would be great. 4-11 Conquest Mardi Gras - 6/93 Tropicale 7/98 Celebration - 6-00 Triumph - 11/02 Conquest - 4-/04 Spirit - 9/
Jasonsterling Posted April 7, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Usually someone just requests it of the Cruise Director. Sometimes the request is honored and sometimes not. THere's not a hard and fast rule about it. It's basically just an announcement in the Capers to the effect that "Friends of Dorothy" will be meeting in such and such lounge or bar at such and such time. There were a great deal of people at the FOD on the Conquest that time.
vince_g Posted April 7, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Chad, If you're looking to meet other family on board, I hope it works out for you. We were on the Conquest Nov 30th - Dec 7th and there was only the female couple. We didn't see anyone else on the ship that could have even been a 'possible'. We figured that if we met other family, that would be great, and if not... oh well. We had a great time... the ship is gorgeous and just a lot of fun. There's also a nice looking drink waiter running around the lido deck. One of the waterslide attendants is quite nice too. paul1722 Posted April 8, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 8, 2004 My partner and I went on the Conquest in November. Not a lot of family, but plenty of closeted married men with the cruisee eyes. And tons of eye candy around the pool. The straight people were very open and we had a great time with all the wives at the disco ! They even requested "it's raining men" for us to dance to ! vince_g Posted April 8, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 8, 2004 Paul, Yes there certainly were some cuties around the pool and some of the married men did have the roaming eyes! Stuart the assistant cruise director just happened to park himself right next to us at the pool. As far as anyone who was openly out, my partner and I and the female couple were it! Still an awsome time.
