#1TravelMom Posted March 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2014 We will be spending some time at Almaplena. I'm trying to decide if we should take our snorkel gear or not. I've read of fabulous snorkeling but can't find any photos.
Rare mitsugirly Posted March 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2014 There is a reef directly out in front of Almaplena. I sent my husband out there (when I had to turn around and go back) with the camera and he "thought" he was taking pictures while he was swimming out there, but it was on "video" instead. So it's almost a horrid video to watch, but I'll share it with you. It gets much better toward the middle and at the end. He didn't get a lot. I'm not sure why he stayed in the same area for so long. Also at the end, he brings the camera up out of the water and you can see how far in front of Almaplena it is. The day we were there another family from the same ship was there with us and their kids kept going out there. They actually were able to see some dolphins prior to us arriving. Just my opinion, but I would take the snorkeling gear. :)
chilimixx Posted March 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2014 Unfortunately I don't have pics of Almaplena snorkeling. However I found a few photos posted on their FB page:
#1TravelMom Posted March 11, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted March 11, 2014 We have it reserved for June. Mitsugirly did and awesome review of the resort. I'll post about the snorkeling when we return. I just can't seem to find any good reviews or photos of the reef itself.
