This was a very nice review. I appreciate that there was very little negative comments, because where it's a negative to you ,it might not be for me. These are the same ports but not the same ship we will be visiting so appreciate insights to them. Glad you enjoyed your cruise and I do believe your daughter enjoyed it also.. Thank you again.;)

I do not like being negative. The fact is, I'm not at home, I'm not at work, I don't have to cook or clean, and basically I'm on vacation. I will point out things that either made me stop and Ummm, or things that gave me a little frustration, but nothing would make me stop this type of vacation.

Thank you for taking the time to do this review! I learned a lot that will help us on our Magic cruise later this year.

Thank you. I'm slowly scanning the full fun times to upload as JPEG.

As usual, we had a great time and a great vacation. I do not, and still dislike the Port of Galveston for embarkation, but it will not stop us from booking out of Galveston.

I loved the ship. That Lanai was the best thing. I did not like, inside, you had to pass through the casino to get to the Ocean Plaza area. I smoke, but the smell of stale cigarettes was awful in the Casino. I believe unless it's open air with wind, there should be no smoking anywhere inside.

Food was good. Steakhouse was the best. Red Frog Pub was the best place to hang out.

The slides were a little harsh on the back, but fun. Mini golf and Sky Course were fun, when we finally went up to that level.

Platinum perks were fine. Used the laundry, love the gift, (you can hold a 12 pack of beer cans in the bottom), room steward was great, never had a stand out waiter for ATD, they all seemed a little rushed. Never had a long wait to get a table.

Any questions, ask away.

We were on this same cruise and spent time every night with Travis at the Red Frog. Great cruise and great review

Thanks. Wasn't that the best spot on the whole ship? I wish I took a picture of him. I either forgot my camera, or was having too much fun to think about pulling it out. Besides, I would hate to have flashes going off while I was singing. The full band that played in the Ocean Plaza was really good as well.

Thanks for the review. It helps my time go by to read Magic reviews. I can't wait to get back on her.

I dont understand why some don't like the Galveston terminal? Am I missing something? Maybe because I live here its not an issue for me. We have never had a problem with it.

Thank you and I am glad it helps.

I have been out of Galveston 3 times. Each time was a little frustrating. Either a long wait in the "holding area", or like this time. It will not stop me from sailing from Galveston.

For dinner we made reservations at the Steakhouse. If you book the first night, you get a free bottle of red or white wine. We chose a Red Merlot.

For starters, the chef gave us a bonus of some tomato soup:

I had the Ahi Tuna Tartar, DH had the Beef Carpaccio and DD had New England Crab Cake. Why I don't have pictures of those, I do not know.

Next DH and I both had the classic Caesar Salad:

for entrees, DH had spice-rubbed Prime Ribeye Steak:

I had the Broiled Filet Mignon:

And DD had the Surf and Turf, Lobster and filet:

We are sailing on her next year. When you make reservations in the steakhouse, do you have to get dressed up on the first night? I'm sure we will be eating there a couple times during the week, and we will be getting dressed up then. I'm just wondering about the first night on the ship.

Not dressed up, but we didn't wear shorts and tshirts. I wore some capris and DH wore jeans and a button down shirt. The first night, some people don't have all their luggage, so dress code is relaxed a little.

Thanks for the pics of Mr. Sanchos, we're booked to go there. All I had to do was put a $12 deposit for myself and son with the water toys for him! How was the temp anyways in Cozumel? Just trying to gauge for 2 weeks from now.

Thanks Becky

The temp was around 85 degrees. The water was cool, but not bad and you got used to it after a while. As you can see by the pictures, my DD did not mind the water temp at all.

Is the food at the bar on board included, just saw prices for desserts?

No, it is not, it is extra. The snacks are good size and only $3.33, (price is at the top next to Pub Grub). It's not too bad, but this food is not included.
