Wine purchase in NOLA

We'll be staying at the Wyndam Riverside before our RCI cruise in April and would like to purchase our allowed 2 bottles of wine just before we head to the Port. Are there places nearby to purchase decent quality bottles of wine? I'm obviously not familiar enough with NOLA to know what my options are for buying wine to take aboard. Thanks to anyone who can offer some advice.

There is a convenience store on the corner of Julia Street and Convention Center Blvd., about a block from your hotel. Not a great selection, but close by.

 

If you want to walk a little further, there are the usual drug stores on Canal Street (CVS, Walgreen's) with better selection and prices.

Not sure what price point you're looking for in wine, but there are two stores in the Quarter that will offer something better than a convenience store or CVS drugstore.

 

Vieux Carre' Wine & Spirits on Chartres St. is the closer one to your hotel. Sidney's Wine Cellar is further, on Decatur st, but you could stop for a pick-me-up and sugar fix at the Cafe Du Monde on your way.

 

There's also Keife and Company, about the same distance from your hotel as the other two above, but back towards Lee Circle.

Vieux Carre & Sidney's both open at 10:00, Sundays included.

We bought wine at the market in the French Quarter. I think it was Rousse? The selection is adequate (from SoCal so we are used to bigger selections) and the prices lower than Walgreens and CVS.
