I ask because, I am going on a cruise in September with my 75 year old mother. We are going to visit the Atlantis aquarium and then I wanted to snorkel for an hour at Cable Beach. Suggestions?

Too far to walk.

Can you snorkel at Cable beach?

Yes - there are a couple areas where you can snorkle if the seas aren't too rough. Or you can hire a boat to take you to a reef offshore where you can snorkel for an hour and a half - they said they'd take us for $35.

Is cable beach a public beach?

Probably not. But we walked through the Casino tower building of the Wyndham and strolled to the beach behind there, grouped together some loungers, and hung out for several hours. We even used their pool and water slide. We did buy some drinks from them.

With a group, $ per person, with just two passengers, $5 per person.

I don't know - but you can take a bus that has stops right in front of the Wyndham and at the straw market for $1 each way. It's the #10 bus.

It's been a couple of years since we were there but I believe the taxi from Atlantis to Cable Beach is about $30-40. That was for 3. You would probably be much better off to sign up for one of the snorkel trips. Have fun!
