Special OBC Offer?

I booked a July '15 Gran Med cruise last week and was doing a search tonight on the NCL site (for no real reason other than pure boredom). I noticed there's a new 'special' highlighted for up to $150 OBC per stateroom. Is this something worth calling about or would it be for new bookings only? Still a relative newbie in the cruise booking world. Any insight would be helpful- thank you! :)

I would sure call and ask. Since you just booked last week, they might cancel and rebook or just add the promo. Of course, if you booked through a TA, you have to work through them. Good luck!

Thanks to everyone- I'm going to call them now! I'll update if I get anywhere. :)

I may be on that cruise... And I believe it is UP TO 150 obc, so depending on what room u booked. For instance I booked an inside and got 50 obc...u should join our roll call. We started early!!

I think I'm embarking as you're disembarking- we'll pass each other in Venice. :) I've been lurking on your roll call since mine seems dead at the moment. Still very early though! :)

Just got off the phone with NCL- they gave me $30 OBC for my Oceanview room. Not bad- that's a couple of drinks. :) She also said to call anytime I saw a special posted on the website, so I will keep checking and do just that! Thanks for the help, all! :D

yes by all means call and ask you pcc about any special deal you see. the net cost of the new deal may end up not being better for you but if you do not ask you will never find out. the way i figure it, if you are willing to her the answer 'no' if that happens to be it, go ahead and ask the question. one last thing, if the answer does happen to be 'no', treat your pcc the same as if it had been yes. they remember customers who treat them well and go the extra mile when they call back!

Without a doubt! I work a second job in customer service and am frequently on the other end… I am always mindful of that when I am the customer. :) It's a good reminder for all, though!

when we first booked our cruise for three of us it cost us right at $3000. at the same time as the freesome and kids sail free both hit, the upgrade outside -> balcony hit and prices dropped. i called a pcc and gave left a message asking her to call me. i then sent an email with my details and simply asked her to look into whatever she could do for us and let me know what adjustment was available. she called back and asked some questions being worried about some of the changes and how we woudl feel about them. i told her 'we are easy to get along with, just work up what you can do for us and give us the new price'. she said ok and gave us a new price of right around $1600. we were very happy. afte we hung up she called back about 30 seconds later all worried again because we lost the $10 ncl casino offer that they quit selling. i told her that was not an issue at all. she had just saved us over $1400. I was not at all concerned about $10. she was very relieved and even said 'you really are easy to get along with'. since then she has called back a couple of times to make sure some other things have been addressed. i am absolutely sure that if i have any questions or issues at all that they will be fully addressed with a quick email.
