Group upgrade incentive

I just received a quote from the group department at Carnival and as part of the group incentive you can get a 2 category upgrade....so here's the question...does anyone know, if I book the highest category 8 cabin, will they upgrade me to a 9A?

Oh and one other question...the prices they gave me were the same as non-group sailing, the only difference being some small "incentives" if you book as a group. I'm dealing directly with Carnival...should I ask them for further discounts or incentives?

I'm doing a group directly with Carnival for Thanksgiving 2006. They gave me group rates that are upgradable but I prefer to book a specific cabin. I LIKE 8A's, midship they are very nice!I think the upgrade would be 8A.....8C

No, the upgrades are available within the category (4A to 4C, 6A to 6C, 8A to 8C, etc).
