Scavenger Hunt Type of Game (for everyone)

Ok I was thinking of starting something fun on our cruise 09/11/05. We will have 14ish people in our group. I'm looking for ideas here.

 

I was thinking of having a scavenger hunt, but then I thought it could be a longer cruise critic type thing.

 

First I'd have to register a domain, like cruisehunting.com or some other easy to remember (and available) domain. Then I get a bunch of small items (or make them) and put that domain on them. Once people find the items, they go to the website and put in the item # or something for fun. Find out who left it last. They have to put something else in it's place. Or something to that effect. I think it'd be fun. I could be wrong though and it might just be a giant waste of time.
