Navigator Duty Free question

Sorry if this has been asked somewhere else but was curious.

 

Seeing as the NOS sails into Galveston where you now pay duty on tobacco and alcohol, was just wondering if it is having any effect on sales on board. If it is has, has anyone seen super special offers to try to entice sales?

Didn't seem to bother the real shoppers. There were a few people lined up at the Texas Tax counter when we got off the ship. Didn't see and super specials over and above what usually goes on with the shops on board. :)

We always buy a couple cartons of cigarettes and bottles of liquor at the duty free shop. But with the new rules in Texas, we won't make any "duty-free" purchases on board. It's no big deal to me and I mainly don't want the hassle of standing in another customs line on disembarkation. Galveston is terrible enough without adding more stress to getting off the ship!

Thanks to you both for the replies

 

We normally get a carton each but with the $15 tax pee carton cheaper to buy at home.

May just get a carton on board to keep DH going for the week.

Agreed Galveston is not my favorite port for disembarkation:rolleyes:
