Question for those who have cruised B2B on Freedom

Recommended Posts

We are so excited to be leaving on Friday to spend a few days in Florida before boarding Freedom for our first ever B2B! We have 8 RC cruises under our belts, but none on Freedom and none B2B.

I have searched and read so much valuable information about B2B cruises--thanks to the members here. I understand that our room Steward will transfer our belongings to our second cabin, and have read various reviews from others stating that on some ships your hanging items do not have to be repacked--that the Steward will move them on a rolling cart. I am wondering if that is the case on Freedom?

Really hoping to not have to repack the dress clothes after the first cruise since we usually send them out the first night of our cruises to be pressed.

Appreciate any info you have to share!:)

I will be reading this thread with great interest. We are doing our first B2B on Freedom in July. Fortunately we have the same connecting cabins on both legs so moving will not be a problem. We have been on Freedom once before (Spring Break of 2010) and it was one of our best cruises. Enjoy and let us know how it works out.:D

We did a back-to-back on the Freedom in early 2013. We did not book the two cruises at the same time so we had different Promenade cabins. Some ships handle this process differently so this info is for our experience on the Freedom:

First - make sure when you check-in for the first cruise make sure that they know you are consecutive cruisers. You will receive a notice in your stateroom to attend a meeting on the last sea day to explain the consecutive cruiser process.

If you are changing cabins, you need to pack anything not on hangers into your suitcases. The cabin attendant will move your suitcases and clothes on hangers into your new cabin.

On debarkation day of the first cruise, eat a late breakfast in the dining room. You will be instructed where to meet on the ship along with your fellow consecutive cruisers. You will be escorted off the ship to a holding room in the terminal (usually by the Suite Concierge). You will need to fill out a customs declaration form for the first cruise.

Your escort will give you your new room key and you will make a quick pass through customs (take your passport but I don't recall them looking at it). You will be first on the ship when they are ready to board the second cruise.

Depending on the number of consecutive cruisers they may have a special lunch set-up (dining room in our case) so you avoid the windjammer crowd.

Most of the time the stateroom attendant will move your clothes that are hanging. However, once we had one say they don't do that, so we had to move them ourselves. Just ask both stateroon attendants about their procedure early in the first cruise.
