runner2013 Posted March 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2014 I just saw an info blurb on another site saying RC will be recategorizing its cabins starting in 2015. They are also changing their residential rates discounts. Has anyone else seen or read about this? If so i'd like to know more about it. jticarruthers Posted March 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2014 http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/General_Info/14037426_Recategorization_Flyer_REV.pdf Not sure if the link above is clickable but it should take you to a flyer on recategorization. Sound like basically simplifying some of the cabin classes rather than physically changing the cabins at all. No info on residential discounts. IHateSnow! Posted March 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2014 It looks like it will be easier to tell from the category what the occupancy of the cabin is - which is exceptionally helpful I think.

I agree it is helpful, but now they are only letting 3rd and 4th passengers book those cabins that are able to hold them. In my families case, we have 7 cabins booked for an Alaska cruise in 2015 in a variety or categories, and we wanted the flexibility of having the option for a 3rd and 4th Pullman if the cousins switched rooms/ had a sleep over for a night or two, but they wouldn't let us book those category of cabins because we did not have 3 people to put in them :/ Sent from my iPhone using Forums
runner2013 Posted March 19, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Thanks for the info. We'll all have to pay a bit more attention when booking for the next few months I guess..
Mystaken Posted March 19, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Seems like solo travelers will be relegated to inside cabins?
Bmorecruiser021 Posted March 19, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Seems like solo travelers will be relegated to inside cabins? I don't think so, but I think you will be regulated to only booking cabins that can accommodate only 2 people.
