whenisthemidnightbuffet? Posted March 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2014 Can anyone actually explain what extra benefits there are over the Red level? For example.... Complimentary Spa Access for Two ...what does this include? Free access to the spa for two for two days of your choice, which have hot tubs, heated loungers, sauna, etc. does not include any treatments such as massage, etc. • • VIP Royal Treatment... Huh? This includes all of the VIP treatments that guests of suites receive with the exception of butler. They include the concierge services, breakfast and lunch in Cagneys (or whatever restaurant is offered on a specific ship). This benefit is not available on the newer ships, Breakaway, Getaway, etc because all suites on these ships are Haven suite and the Haven has its own designated restaurant. This is the best benefit offered in VIP Royal Treatment and losing it on the newer ships kind of eliminates the Royal Treatment perk. • • VIP Seating for...again, Huh? Select Shows Not sure what they mean by select shows, would think Rock of Ages and Burn the Floor would be included. But there are special seats reserved in the theater for Suite guests and I am assuming this is the seating they are referring to. • • Cigar & Cigarette Offers Free cigar or pack of cigarettes each day in the casino. With all that said, I was told by a CAS rep that they were making changes to the program April 1st and not sure how true this is but if it happens these changes may affect what currently is afforded Golden Tier. drosborn Posted October 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2014 I just made VIP Level with NCL Casino at Seas and was looking forward to a couple of the perks the first being free shuttle service to and from the ship. Has anybody else noticed the cutbacks to the perks? Does anybody have the list of the old benefits? Seems pretty crappy to cut back on perks for top level players!!:(

Has anybody else noticed the cutbacks to the perks? Does anybody have the list of the old benefits? Seems pretty crappy to cut back on perks for top level players!!:( I agree, the cutbacks leave no incentive to reach the next level. I just went from Hot to Golden on my last cruise and other than a better level of drinks in the casino and the spa access (that I probably won't use), the perks don't improve much. I'm about 5,000 points from VIP and I'll hit that on my next cruise in November, but I don't really care if I do or not because the perks are even less impressive from Golden to VIP than it was from Hot to Golden. What really matters is your level of play (ADT) and not your "gold" status. Getting free spa passes or anything else based on the color of your players card is immaterial compared to the comped cabins (or PH Suites in Mikkar's case) and account credits that you receive based on your play. I know VIP+ gets private transport up to 50 miles. As a VIP, I would appreciate even a shared shuttle to my hotel.. And, on what ship to people get special show seating? I have not yet seen it on any of my cruises. Edited December 21, 2014 by reallyme

akleinga Posted April 17, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 17, 2015 Well, a lot has changed now making being HOT, GOLDEN or VIP even less of a perk. I am GOLDEN, so no more Royal VIP Treatment, so no breakfast of lunch like suite guests on older ships. (You did not get that on EPIC, Breakaway or Getaway). No more VIP check in and getting on the ship before others like suite guests. This one was very nice on previous trips. No more cigars or cigarettes, also was a nice perk before No more 'daily' spa passes for 2. You now get a SPA credit, a different amount based on level. For me if was $150, which got my wife a 1 week pass to thermal suite, but not for me unless I wanted to pay for it. Well that is not much of a perk. So before I could spend time with my wife in the SPA for being GOLDEN, now we were separated if she wanted to go to the SPA, which of course I told her she should enjoy. After 3 days she stopped going so it was a waste for us. We did still get invited to VIP party with other suite guests. Another problem I had was we are still supposed to get VIP disembarkation, last time I was GOLDEN I received a letter explaining the process, this time I had to talk to 3 different people who all pretended like I did not know what I was talking about. Since we were driving home, it was very important to me to get escorted off the ship as one of the first few people so I could get on the road ASAP. We were taking our own luggage, only 4 pieces for the 3 of us, so in the morning we did save at least an hour by getting to partake in the VIP disembarkation. What I did not like is that the main Casino Host and Concierge made it seem like they were doing me a favor to partake in a program that is clearly listed on the NCL Casino at Seas website You still get a casino dinner, but so many people have Ultimate Dining I think they should offer something else as an alternative

May I ask, with your casino comped dinner did you receive the comp bottle of wine? Someone posted this week on the boards that the wine is no longer incuded with the cas comped meal
monkeybone Posted April 17, 2015 #13 Share Posted April 17, 2015 No more CAS boarding UGH that was one of the best perks for us. It should at least be for golden and VIP's...Stupid move by CAS This really is a CAS downgrade!

I don't think he meant no CAS separate boarding, but took it that no VIP CAS boarding, where they are treated pretty much exactly like suite guests at the pier. Never been a CAS VIP so not sure how nicely they are treated. Anyway, that is just my interpretation of what was said, hoping I'm right, lol. popsec Posted April 17, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted April 17, 2015 Hmmm.....on my last cruise (March 22nd) I was still gold. I asked abt the cigarettes (I bring them home for my husband). Casino hostess said they no longer do that but since I knew about it she'd allow it. They never tell you any of the perks but I asked them outright what the spa thing was and she said I could book a treatment up to $160 and they'd pay for it. Seems as tho' they'd inform you of the perks instead of you having to hunt them down...
Sand and Seas Posted April 18, 2015 #17 Share Posted April 18, 2015 I was Gold on our Dawn cruise in early March. No more breakfasts or lunch in Cagneys. Although it clearly says VIP Disembarkation I called the concierge to ask about it as no instructions had been delivered to me. She said she hadn't gotten my name for it from the Casino but that she would call them and get back to me. She never called back. Didn't feel like much of a VIP and I won't be making any effort to reach Gold again.
akleinga Posted April 19, 2015 #18 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Yes still wine with the Casino dinner. In talking to other Casino 'dinner' guests, they wanted and received 2 alcoholic drinks instead of the bottle of wine. And yes there is a CAS line, but no more VIP escorted perk which was very nice. akleinga Posted April 19, 2015 #19 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Yes, VIP Disembarkation is supposed to be included, but the casino staff had to call the concierge for me to get on the 'list' when in the past I got a letter in my room explaining the process.
