spanner14 Posted March 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Apologies if this has been covered before. It's actually a question from my teenage dd. We noticed that when departing from Southampton, several food items were aimed at UK cruisers - notably: British style back bacon rashers vs American style streaky bacon, and Pink "Marie Rose" sauce for Prawn Cocktail vs red US style Cocktail sauce. This led dd - (who loves bacon but didn't enjoy the "American" bacon on FOS) to wonder what style the food would be on RCI ships departing from Italy or Spain? We are looking at Vision from Barcelona around Italy next summer and wondered if anyone recalls whether the food might be UK/European in bias, or whether it remains American except when cruising from the UK. On behalf of my picky dd - thank you. ;)
Clarea Posted March 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2014 We had the British style bacon on both a Voyager and Legend transatlantic from Barcelona to the US. I don't recall if it lasted the entire 13 days, but they had it for at least the first part of the trip.

spanner14 Posted March 20, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Oh great, thanks so much. Dd will be delighted if both are on offer. :) Don't suppose you can remember what colour the prawn cocktail sauce was? DH and I had a surprise when first presented with what looked like tomato ketchup to put on our prawn cocktail on FOS. :o :D
