Carnival Freedom cabins on Riviera deck

Hi there. We're booking a 6 day cruise today on this ship, and have a question about inside aft cabins on this deck. I know there's cabins above us, but what's below us? I'm curious about what types of noises we'll be hearing if any?

Should we move up a deck or 2?

Thanks, Terry

No! Run as fast as you can! I stayed there once, in 1454. The 1st day was OK as the ship sailed slowly. But after the 2rd day, the noise and vibration was unbearable, especially during the night when we want to sleep. It was shaking so badly that all drawers, closet doors, cabin door, and even the ceiling were making constant noises. We were on a 8-day cruise. We went to customer service in tears and was willing to pay whatever extra for a new cabin. They sent someone to our cabin to check the noise, and immediately gave us a new cabin (inside, forward) with no charge.

We've had an inside cabin on Freedom and it was absolutely no problem. HOWEVER, we were midship. Can you switch to midship rather than aft?

I would look more at deck 1 MIDSHIP before looking at deck 2 still aft. Moving just one deck up is not going to make a difference.

We had an aft cabin on the Liberty (Freedom's sister) on deck 2, and as someone mentioned above, when it was smooth, we had no problems. But when seas got choppy, there was A LOT of rumbling and shaking, with drawers opening and the bathroom door slamming in the middle of the night. I liked the rumbling, but I can see how it would be unacceptable for many.

Midship on the lowest deck will be the absolute smoothest and quietest location on the entire ship.
