Thanks for posting, very nice to see a video from a YC2 cabin. I just love the interior colours in the cabins of the MSC ships. The YC2 looks great. Did you notice any noise or vibrations die to the location?

Here are two cabinvideos from me as well. One from a YC1 cabin onboard the sistership MSC Preziosa:

Balconycabin on the MSC Poesia:

Absolutely the most quiet cabin we have ever had! There are the normal vibrations when docking etc - but there are only 3 cabins at the front of the ship (ours being the middle) so no one else walks back there past our door. We never heard a peep from either side. It was amazing. I commented several times when on the ship, how quiet it was.

You should try the ones on either side of it !

There are only 3 YC2 cabins on the ship. We had the one to the left.....12001.

Believe it or not, the side ones are bigger. They are all the same price.

The bathroom has 2 sinks and a large separate shower loaded with jets.

The dressing area is like a little room outside of the walkin closet by the bedroom...not inside the bedroom.

12001 is the only non-connecting room so you do not have that extra door in the living room. There is an extra chair there.

We were so blown away by the yacht club experience that I started checking the internet as soon as I got home for another cruise.

I was amazed to see there is a category called YC3..... There are only 2 of these on the ship.

it took awhile to find a date where one was available but I did. we will be going in a YC3 next Spring.

It is the best of both worlds...the 2 rooms PLUS a balcony which is missing on the YC2.

It would have been nice to have a balcony but would take a YC2 again. The wall to wall windows were amazing. We left the drapes open and you could watch the sunrise from the bed.

Some people complained that they are on the 12th deck instead of the 15th where the majority of yacht amenities are. We found it no problem.Just straight above.

The yc3 are located on the 16th deck.

I knew about the ones on either side but they were booked on our sailing. We don't have the liberty to wait for another sailing as this was our son's spring break.

I can't say we were blown away, but I can say that I wouldn't sail MSC in any other category. Next time 15th or 16th floor for sure. Although everything is "straight above" as you say, you still have to walk down the long hallway to the elevator bank, go to the 15th floor, have your key card ready to get through the glass doors and walk back down the hall. Not a huge problem but easily and gladly avoided. Especially when we had a butler that made it clear we were his only cabin on 12. It made a difference.

I worked for a high schoool for 25 tears and was religated to summer and spring break.

Now retired, I have the luxury of traveling when I want. Really helps with pricing and itineries.

We had a lady butler who was fantastic.

We had originally decided to have only every other meal in the the yacht club because we enjoy dining with others. The staff there was so very helpful and enjoyable combined with the fact we met other diners there that we just dined there. The food was fantastic...with the never ending wine.

We found the other areas also great...the cocktail lounge and the pool area.

It was also nice at the end. We always carry are own luggage off. Yacht club was first off with the elevators held by the butlers so it was not a fight to get on one.

The only possible downside for me is that I cannot see myself on MSC again without being in the yacht club !

Agreed! I would never sail MSC without being in the Yacht Club. 100%

Thank you, very nice cabin for people with kids :p I know there is no balcony ,but could you open some windows to have fresh air?

No. No fresh air in the room. We didn't find it uncomfortable, though. We were not in the room very much.

There is a separate thermostat in each room which work quite well.

Also, do not to forget about the yc3. although hard to find ability, it was only $150. more than the yc2 and has the balcony.

The YC3 is the Royal Suite, correct? Only two of them on the front two corners of floor 16? There were some sailings that it was quite a bit more than $150, but still, better location and a balcony.

Yes, there are only 2 of these rooms and they are also called the Royal Suite.

I really do not know why. the pictures make them look a lot like the YC2 but with a balcony.

We booked in the beginning of next March. I just did a quick internet agency check of the pricing. No 3's available on our cruise but there is for March 21st and March 29th.

The difference between the YC1 and YC2 is $140. Pp.

The difference between the YC2 and YC3 is $145. Pp.

the YC 2 square footage is more than twice the YC1 with the end cabins the biggest.

We opted for an end yc2. And paid the difference. I was worried about no balcony but did not miss it. My husband has been a flooring contractor for over 30 years and said it was more than 600 sq.ft. It was like having a small apartment. You would have to pay at least double on any other cruiseline and even then I do not think you would get that sq.footage.

By the pictures.....the sq. footage in the YC3 appears to be a little less but you still get the 2 separated rooms AND a balcony.

This cruise is a bit more than we usually pay but is so incredible, I just cannot wait to do yacht club again.

the private pool area is fabulous...with a full complimentary bar and small buffet.

The cocktail lounge is huge with fabulous views and snacks

The food in your private dining room is the best ever

And do not forget they replenish your room mini bar twice a day with sodas, alcohol, and snacks like Pringles and chocolate peanuts.

Actually, the more I think about the price is not that bad because we do not have any bar or wine bill at the end.

I completely agree with you about YC. I would even skip a year of cruising to save up for it if I had to. It doesn't compare to any other experience on the ship. The Top Sail Lounge is always quiet and both their bar and the bar at the pool area are FREE and there is no wait for a drink. The pool area alone, please. There is absolutely no comparison to the zoo below. To each his own, though. All I will say is that if you try YC, you're not going back. No way. Here is a link to the pictures I took on our cruise...

The only reason I am posting this is because I appreciate your input and don't want you to skip a year of cruising.

I don't know your cruising history but I guess you have not tried HAL Signature class ships.

Try them.

This is "Yacht club" of a size of the whole ship and even better because the Signature ships have amenities that are not available anywhere on MSC. It's not "ship within a ship" - it's the whole ship.

It could cost you a fraction of what you pay for the YC depending on the cabin class you choose and your selection of amenities (both included or extra charge). :)

Reference manuals in my signature.

We have not tried HAL and would definitely be open to it. The only reason we haven't looked into HAL is that we travel with our son and want him to have an even better experience than we have. I understand HAL caters to an older crowd (which my husband and I wouldn't mind a bit).

BTW I appreciate the manner in which you post with all the hater bullies you have. I don't think they realize people can figure it all out themselves. They don't need to go on tirades. I don't agree with every single thing you post. So what? Post away!

The YC 3 balcony is very odd, but at least it's a balcony.

The balcony has to have the extra glass panel because it is the very front of the ship so you do not get blown away.....views are spectacular.

Not exactly so.

I didn't say "try HAL". I said "Try the Signature class".

The Signature class is the Eurodam and the Nieuw Amsterdam.

This is HAL top product. They are mainstream cruise ships but actually the cream of mainstream - most comfortable resort cruise ships at sea - in many aspects better than some so-called luxury ships and still affordable.

They cater to self-sufficient (not necessarily old) crusiers that value classy sea travel.

Also their Eastern itinerary is hard to beat.

Take time to watch this video.

Happy cruising!

We have never had a bad cruise on them. Rooms food ,etc. great...

However, in checking next March when our Msc cruise is, a Neptune suite on Holland N.A. would cost about $700. more. We have had those rooms before on other Holland ships and they are great...very large but 1 room. Msc yc2 & 3 completely close off the 2nd room.

Also, although their lounge is nice, I do not recall it offering complementary alcohol.

Free laundry is a nice perk that MSC does not have.

I would do Holland again but can now only fit in so many cruises a year :O)

We belong to Royal Caribbean's casino club so we get offers from them we cannot resist.

We are also on Princess's standby list.....that is really the only reason we cruise that line.

I wouldn't consider anything less than Signature Class. ;)
