Vancouver pier to hotel

I really need help planning our exit from the cruise ship to our hotel in Vancouver. We will have 2 suitcases each, plus carry ons, having traveled 1 week in the Seattle area prior to our 8/29/2014 RC cruise to Alaska. Any recommendations on an easy way to get to our Hampton Inn Airport Hotel from the pier?

Second question: we have just one day in Vancouver before our flight back to PA the next day. What should we do after showing our bags at the hotel?

You could take the shuttle to the airport area hotels. It costs about $15/person and will drop you of at the hotel. The Hampton and other hotels in the area are a long way from most of the tourist area. You'll have to back track all the way back to the pier to visit the tourist attractions.

Your options are:

take the shuttle which is milk run and very time consuming

walk the 3 blocks over to Waterfront Station and take the Canada Line to Bridgeport Station and walk the 8 or so blocks to the hotel.

take the Canada Line out to YVR Station and have the hotels shuttle pick you up there

take a cab from Canada Place at a cost of about $35.

 

You really are not in the best location for seeing Vancouver and may care to think about the Hampton Inn on Robson St. in downtown Vancouver or anyone of another downtown hotels.
