Loonbeam Posted March 25, 2014 #26 Share Posted March 25, 2014 Oddly enough, its not specifically mentioned, although would probablye be covered under this section: 7. RIGHT TO DEVIATE FROM SCHEDULED ROUTE, CHANGE PORT OF EMBARKATION/DISEMBARKATION, SUBSTITUTE TRANSPORTATION, CANCEL CRUISE AND ACTIVITIES, AND CHANGE OR OMIT PORTS OF CALL; SUBSTITUTION. That said, on a more general legal term, a vendor has the right to substitute a product of equal or greater value (based on purchase price) at their discretion. I wonder if it talks about this in the passage contract. No one EVER reads it but it may cover upgrades, NUP earmarks and such. Someone read through all the fine print and report back to us ;) PS, Plaza deck rules! I've stayed there a few times. Close to food, art gallery, wine bar , etc. If it's noisy, I must be deaf. sweet carol Posted March 25, 2014 #27 Share Posted March 25, 2014 We got an upgrade for our next cruise from Baja aft to Baja mid forward. We. Have not marked no upgrade preference and we were hoping for an upgrade.. Unfortunately we would rather of stayed where we were than go forward on our floor as our friends are still in Baja aft. We. Called and asked to be moved back. It was not done. We called and asked again and they said the request had been done once so it appeared we have been denied the request to move back. Our friends occupy the only room sold in Baja aft. They had requested not to be moved. So we are down the hall.
sherryf Posted March 25, 2014 #28 Share Posted March 25, 2014 I love the Plaza deck. There is very little motion - less than deck 10 for sure, even if you are further forward! I also have not had any problems with noise. I think this is a fantastic upgrade!
CCFC Posted March 25, 2014 #29 Share Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) We stayed in P312 on the Ruby and never heard a thing, there is a door by the International Café they close in the evenings to keep noise out from that direction (not that we heard any with it open) and we never heard the casino at all. Being so low down we slept through quite a heavy swell one night and only found out about it the next day from fellow diners on higher decks. The engines are more towards the restaurants not the cabins, again we slept like logs, not a sound from the engines. We usually do balconies but loved P312 so much we would gladly book it again without hesitation. Edited March 25, 2014 by CCFC
