funredhead Posted March 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2014 I am wondering if OBC from a travel agent company has restrictions? Can it be applied toward the dsc? Is there anything it cannot be used toward? Also, and I'm sure it won't happen, but if I don't use all of the OBC from a travel agent is it refundable? Thanks for your thoughts. funredhead Posted March 25, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted March 25, 2014 I haven't actually booked the cruise yet. But, I got an email from an online TA. I was wondering what peoples actual experiences were with this before I book. Is it different with different ta's? Thanks for your help.
Demonyte Posted March 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2014 It depends, in my personal experience most OBC from TA is also non-refundable, as is the part of OBC that is NCL's own booking perk (if any). I think your best bet is to plan like it all was non-refundable - only thing you can't use non-refundable OBC to is the Service Charge, other than that pretty much everything goes: excursions, speciality dining, drinking, spa, games like bingo and deal or no deal, tip vouchers to named crew members, etc.
rvsullivan Posted March 25, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 25, 2014 The TA's have the option to use either refundable or non. Typically, they use non refundable (not always). You can either ask the TA when booking or ask for an amenity confirmation and it will tell you which it is.
swedish weave Posted March 25, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2014 On the Getaway, I got a letter stating the non-refundable OBC cound not be used in the casino or for DSC.

agabbymama Posted March 25, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 25, 2014 What is correct here? Casino would not cash out Non-Refundable. I had to go the store and spend it there.
