Maya Chan...special requests?

I am planning on making a reservation for Maya Chan for our cruise in December. It will be our first time there...are there any special requests we should make when we reserve? Are we "assigned" a certain location on the beach, and if so, is there a location that is better than others that I should request?

 

Any advice would be so welcome. Thanks :)

Yes, they assign your seating and have it all set up for you when you arrive. We were a family of 3 when we went there and they gave us a large palapa with a bed, a chair and a hammock in it. It was kinda tucked away in the corner and really nice. We did see others out in the open and with just 2 chairs with an umbrella over them. I'm not sure how they determine who gets what unless it goes by the size of the party?

Thanks for the reply. We are a family of 5, and would *love* a palapa with the bed, hammock, etc. I'll just make a quick note when I make my reservation that we'd prefer that over chairs with an umbrella.

 

Do you happen to know how early they "sell out" of palapas? Our cruise isn't until December, but I don't want to miss out. :p

If you don't want to miss out and know for sure this is where you want to go, I would book. This is a popular place with the cruisers on this board.

We were there last December and just booked them again for November! We were a group of 6 and had a nice area right at the water with a hammock, bed, and chairs...there was also a little "point" right out from us that had 2 chairs under a palm tree. It was fabulous and they took GREAT care of us!! They have a "Love Box" as you leave to drop your gratuities in. We were greeted with a welcome punch drink. They even brought drinks to us in the water and pulled us back to shore while we sat in our floating chairs:D. We had a birthday and they made a cake for it! Once you go and see how far they are from a store you will understand why this was a WOW factor for us! I agree that you should book ASAP...it will sell out. Have a great time! :)

Too bad we won't be there the same time! We have a reservation earlier in the month. Looking forward to it already!
