Everything.. ESCAPE (live 29 Oct 2015!)

Recommended Posts

Hey cruisingcasinos, There is a very big difference! I am booked on deck 9 in the aft facing Penthouse with a balcony 405 Square feet! Smallest aft facing penthouse is a little more than 200 square feet which is still huge. I couldn't wait to book the same aft facing penthouse on the Escape in 2016 until I found out they are all only 78 square feet. So I booked Getaway again! you can call Norwegian anytime and they can give you this information.

I really, really doubt you were given correct information. NCL has been known to give incorrect info regarding balcony sizes, especially on ships that haven't been built yet.

I...for one....am REALLY hoping you are right! ;)

From the renderings posted here - it seems that they are not that much smaller than those on the "-aways", but time will tell!

I'm new to this thread and I'm still trying to read through all the posts, so forgive me in advance!! I'm sailing on this TA cruise with my then-husband for our honeymoon!

Very excited about all of the annoucements. We are already booked with the UBP and UDP which is going to be a great help considering all of the bars and dinning options.

We tried to get UBP but we were under the impression it wasn't being offered for the TA. We didn't see it as a pay-beforehand option like we've seen on our past few cruises and it wasn't an option on the ALLIN promotion. What am I missing? Did UBP somehow sell out? We really, *really* want the UBP for our honeymoon! :D

There are several that won't be included. All the a la carte will be 20% off like the tapas bar and Food Republic. Expect Bayamo to be like Ocean Blue just a different Iron Chef.

Wait...how does that work? Isn't that the whole point of the UDP? I haven't sailed on Breakaway or Getaway, but I don't remember Epic being like this. So what do you think will be included vs. not?

My fiance is going to be Not Happy if we switched from our 10% OBC promotion, which I thought was fantastic, to the ALLIN promotion *without* UBP in order to get the UDP...only to have it not include everything.

WELCOME!

Not sure when your sailing is - but there is/was a promotion running - UBP, UDP and OBC and depending on your category you got to choose one, two or all three.

The Epic didn't have the celebrity chef restaurants like the "-aways". The ones you enjoyed on the Epic are all still included.

On Epic you have Wasabi Sushi and Shanghai Noodle bar which are both a la carte options. Those are not included in UDP, but are 20% off for those who have it. It's exactly the same thing people are suspecting for a la carte restaurants on Escape.

Thanks for the reply! I'm on the transatlantic. The T&C of the current promotion specifically does not allow UBP on the TA. I guess I was making the assumption that jmele999 was on the transatlantic as well.

Thanks also for the clarifications on the UDP. Looking forward to some info soon on which restaurants will be a la carte.

Always wondered....is Carlo's in this category too?? Discount with UDP - or is it excluded because it's not a restaurant??

Renderings of ships are the ones that you can never trust! I called Norwegian 3 more times speaking to 3 different consultants, they have the exact information on the square feet of those balconies! They are not going to say 87 square feet if it is not cause they know that will change a lot of minds. I was told they had to take away all of the footage on the aft penthouses for all of the new venues for the Escape. All you have to do is call Norwegian and see for yourself that this information is correct.

In my experience, considering that the aft block is not even built yet for the Escape, the only people that know exactly what those balconies will look like are the engineers at Meyer Werft. Ship plans and designs are often changed and modified during construction, especially in certain sections that depend heavily on structural engineering considerations such as the very aft and forward cabins. Unless a PCC showed me a CAD working drawing with the dimensions of the balcony in question I would not believe a word of it.

I also think this is the major reason that the deck plans come out in sections like they do, I don't think NCL is trying to keep these things a secret, I think that the exact layout of these areas hasn't been finalized yet. After all NCL has gotten it wrong before when talking about ships under construction....

For the record, I also think the reason they gave you, that the smaller balconies are to make more room for other venues on the Escape just doesn't make sense.

FWIW, I spoke with my PCC last week about this exact issue. She said that in their system, each cabin class has a square footage number, but it is the exact same for every cabin in the class. She acknowledged that it was never that way in reality - there are always some bigger/smaller balconies in each class depending on the ship configuration. So... despite the fact that you were quoted a particular square footage 3 different times... I don't think we know yet.

I understand what you are saying; however, many people had this problem with the Breakaway. The info given was not correct. In fact, they continued to give out incorrect info even after the ship was already sailing.

I don't doubt the the reps gave you the information that they have - I'm just not convinced it is correct information. Guess we will see as the ship build continues!

As far as shows go. I'm holding my breath for either "Spamalot" or "Young Frankenstein".

I'll be the one passed out in the corner from lack of oxygen.

What are the odds for the tray Parker matt stone produced the book of mormon?

The theatre (block) is visible on the Meyer Werft webcam, judging by the slope?

All blocks should be produced by now. Well, at least they should in the next 2 weeks. After Anthem's float out it will take no longer than a month until Escape's block construction will be finished.
