Going to post in the Alaska forum too but wanted the Celebrity thoughts first. We are planning on taking the small boat excursion off the Solstice to see the Tracy Arm fjords. We want to take a whale watching tour once we get to Juneau too. Does anyone know if you are on this fjord tour, you have to deal with tendering or do they just drop you off at the dock. Any help would be most appreciative.

We did this itin june 2013. If you are taking the celebrity sponsored tracy arm tour on the catamaran, the the ship stops before entering to far down the fjord and you get on the catamaran which then traverses close to the glacier. It was one of the best excursions we have ever done!!

Upon returning to the ship, we had to get back on the ship to "check in" before heading out for our whale watch tour in the afternoon. we had approx 1.25 hours to grab a bite to eat and then walk to the pick up spot for the whale tour.

i will say that for some reason when we re-entered the ship from the catamaran tour, the lines to get off the ship were VERY long, literally winding all over the ship and down the stairs. People were not happy at all. I heard stories that people were in line upwards of 45 minutes trying to get off the ship.

By the time we went to the cabin, got cleaned up, grabbed a bite to eat

and then headed back out, the line was short.

Have fun! alaska is beautiful!
