mamagina Posted November 22, 2014 #128 Share Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) Happy to help! Lucky!!! I'm going keep looking for 200, 186 or 214 for our March 1 cruise. They were the least obstructed but not available for our sailing. A little more than 6160 that we switched to today. I also would love to see what an E-1 Cabin looks like. They were the least obstructed but not available for our sailing. A little more than 6160 that we switched to today. I also would love to see what an E-1 Cabin looks like. That's what I switched from. I originally had a E1 for the Anthem in March 2016. I got to see one on the cruise. There is no sofa just a regular chair. The room is like a box, and the closets were narrower than the D cabins. The one thing it did have going for it, was the balcony it was about the size of a JS, but without the cushioned chairs. I cancelled the E1 and went down to the Next Cruise desk and booked an DO. It worked out to the same price as the E1 plus I ended up getting the $200 OBC for booking onboard. mamagina Posted November 23, 2014 #130 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Glad it worked out. We rebooked on board also, canceling our "blocked" cabin. We booked a deck 9 D5 balcony, coming out even with the OBC. I just thought that the E-1s might be even less but they really seem not to be. The big balcony does look good
lynsteve Posted November 27, 2014 #131 Share Posted November 27, 2014 We are booked in cabin 6216 but that isn't listed, any help on this one. These are a lot cheaper then having an interior or ocean view. We had a balcony on independence this week and had fantastic weather. We had an interior last year right in the middle of hurricane type weather so didn't even venture outside on deck

Cheers Here is a deck plan showing the different obstructions. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2112777&highlight=obstructed 6216 is 75% obstructed. gaylemh Posted November 27, 2014 #133 Share Posted November 27, 2014 Gina, From your picture it doesn't look like 6216 is 75% obstructive. Could you verify that is the cabin in your picture? I changed to 6214 and a friend of mine might be interested in 6216 that just became available.
Ken at the beach Posted November 27, 2014 #134 Share Posted November 27, 2014 6214 is listed as 50% by RCI. It is right between the 2 davits which are in front of 6212 and 6216. The cabins listed as a 75% obstructed view may not all have the same amount of obstruction but hey certainly have more of an obstructed view than those that do not have the davits in front of em. mamagina Posted November 27, 2014 #136 Share Posted November 27, 2014 (edited) As I walked down the hall looking into the cabins that were open as they were being cleaned I took a picture of the cabin number and then the balcony. Here is what is on my phone for 216 Here is 214 The steward and some luggage were in 214 so I didn't go in. But my husband and I said remember the one with the luggage because it was very open. Hope that helps! Happy thanksgiving! Sent from my iPhone using Forums Edited November 27, 2014 by mamagina
flowerlady Posted November 28, 2014 #137 Share Posted November 28, 2014 I chose our rear deck 6 obstructed view cabin for the following reasons, the price was a good deal, we wanted the rear of the ship for stability, and most of all, there is an entrance to 270 at the far end of the hallway. We will be on the February 2nd sailing and are looking forward to exploring this new ship. Happy sails to you, Tina
Speedodeedo Posted November 29, 2014 #138 Share Posted November 29, 2014 Not sure if anyone will know for sure, but I am booked for Anthem of the Seas on an OD cabin level 6. Will the cabins in both Quantum and Anthem more or less correspond with each other. I based my booking on schematics of Quantum.
yj2cute Posted November 30, 2014 #139 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Yes, that should be the case. Same as Oasis/Allure. Sent from my XT1096 using Forums mobile app
KBD1516 Posted December 1, 2014 #140 Share Posted December 1, 2014 I am wondering if anyone is creating a cabin compilation for the Quantum ships. It would be really nice to have (like the more general RCCI cabin review list). Of course I can say it would be nice but unfortunately I am not the one who could do it !! I hope someone does though. Arzeena Posted December 3, 2014 #141 Share Posted December 3, 2014 Cabins 8512 and 8514 had absolutely no obstructions. Just a hull balcony.
JemzRoo Posted January 7, 2015 #142 Share Posted January 7, 2015 Cabins 8512 and 8514 had absolutely no obstructions. Just a hull balcony. Good to hear. I booked 8112 directly on the other side of 8512 and it's been difficult to find information on these 4 rooms.

Rondo Posted January 29, 2015 #144 Share Posted January 29, 2015 There are some really nice D8 category cabins on deck 6 that are not obstructed - ours was 6540 - about 8 cabins ahead of the foward elevators - good location with good views. Great to hear you liked this cabin as we just switched from an obstructed view balcony (even though it had a bigger balcony -6690) to a guaranteed balcony on the Anthem for June. We were assigned 6540 the next day! Saved $400 and got a better cabin. Looking forward to a great cabin and view.
Seaworthy01 Posted February 1, 2015 #145 Share Posted February 1, 2015 Would love to see photo's from the obstructed view cabin balcony's that are on decks 7 & 8. If anyone has these photo's, would appreciate it if you posted them.

jeditden Posted June 9, 2015 #148 Share Posted June 9, 2015 Cabins 8512 and 8514 had absolutely no obstructions. Just a hull balcony. I've got 7512 and 7514 booked on Anthem. Here's hoping they're just hulls too. Even so, it's better than the inside room I had booked for the same price...

Even so, it's better than the inside room I had booked for the same price... Upon viewing photos from the exterior side of the ship, it's looking like the only blockage on the front cabins are from the hull. Sweet deal! That's right, I'm replying to my own post! So there!
