maryann120 Posted April 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Hallo Linda, I've been to Gytheion once. It's a small town, very picturesque I'd say. Greek tradiotonal tavernas and cafeterias around the port, not that expensive as in other places. If you have the time just rent a car and go to Diros cave, around 40km, a MUST see. cruise&dive Posted July 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2014 What rental car companies are near the port in Gythion? Are taxis available at the port for hire for a half day or so? Thanks.
cruisingbarb Posted August 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2014 There were taxis available at the port. We took one out to the dirks caves then came back and had lunch in the port. It was a pleasant day.
whystayhome Posted August 3, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted August 3, 2014 Having been there recently, I would say Gythion is a port that looks better from the ship than "up close and personal" Should I visit there again, I would either get a taxi and go somewhere else or treat it like a sea day.
