Baltic Q: kayaking in Helsinki

We are looking into a kayaking trip while our ship is docked in Helsinki this summer on our Baltic Cruise. My worry is that the kayaking tour ends at 2:30 p.m. and the ship leaves at 4:00 p.m. We have never been to Helsinki so I have no concept of the distance between dock and where we assemble. Has anyone had experience with this? Would we make it back to the ship in time? The kayaking company says this would not be a problem. But I can see us trying to paddle to catch up with a moving ship...not so good.

We were there last year and from memory we took a short bus ride to the Centre where I would assume this activity will take place. There should therefore be plenty of time to get back. The last thing the locals want is bad publicity and you can be assured that they have done this before.

We actually thought the City was great just to stroll around and eat at the Dockside in Town.
