mamma t Posted April 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2014 Hello! My husband and I are thinking of doing the Princess cruise to S.A. starting in Santiago, going around Cape Horn and ending in Rio. We would love to do the land tour of Machu Picchu before the cruise and after, doing the land tour to Iguazu Falls. Has anyone else done this? Is it too much? Is it worth doing it? If you could let me know. Thanks
soccerref Posted April 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2014 We did 'round the Horn' from Santiago to Buenos Aires with Princess in January 2013 and loved every minute. We also added on the Princess land tour to Iguazzu and Rio which was fabulous. I have been to Machu Picchu as a land tour on a previous cruise and thought it was amazing too. I did a full review with lots of practical information of our 2013 trip and posted it on this forum, not the review forum. I am away on holiday for the next couple of weeks so can't access my review but I will re-post it when I get home if you think it will help. Fletch1 Posted April 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2014 We just got off the Golden Princess that travelled from Buenos Aires to Los Angeles. We did not do the Machu Picchu tour but had friends on board who did. They said it was fabulous. Very tiring and go, go, go but worth it. They used the best hotels and everything was catered for and organised. It cost US$1999 per person on our cruise. Princess took only 140 passengers on this tour and it sold out very quickly, so book quickly when they release it if you are interested in it. There was a big wait list for it.
