Independance; noisy connecting PR cabins

Recommended Posts

We recently sailed on the Independence and had a Promenade cabin. When we booked, the only availability on the 8th deck was a connecting cabin. We have stayed in cabins with connecting doors in the past with no problems. But this turned out to be the noisiest cabin we have ever occupied. The single connecting door provided little to no sound deadening. You could even see light around the edges. When the neighbors spoke in normal voices, you could clearly hear them, and when they raised their voiceS or laughed or coughed it sounded like they were in our room. Although we enjoyed our first time in a Promenade cabin, we saw little advantage over an inside stateroom since we had to keep the curtains closed most of the time.
