Wait staff in main dining room

We are back from our sunshine cruise and have a quick question. Has anyone cruised lately and not been happy with their wait staff at dinner? We had a large table of 13 people and only had one waiter during the entire meal time. He also had to wait on three other tables of 4 people. He only had one person helping at the beginning of the meal to fill our glasses and then the helper was no where to be found. Every night we were lucky to get a refill of our water glasses by the end of the meal because our main waiter was running around "like a chicken with his head cut off". Has anyone else had bad service like this lately? :(

I've had subpar service like this on other ships. I mention it to the head waiter and get it rectified. A single server can not service a table of 13 adequately when they have other tables as well. An assistant waiter needs to be involved or the head waiter has to step up and service those tables as well.

In October on the Liberty we actually changed stations. We had ATD and I guess the wait staff thought they could deliver our food anytime they wanted also. First nights dinner was almost 3 hours. Totally unacceptable. Once we switched it was awesome. Good luck all.

The ass't waiter was probably running to the galley. Three trips per course as they're not supposed to carry more than 12 plates at a time.

 

Fwiw waiters normally have sections of 24pax. Sounds like the team was one short.

Over the years they have really cut back on the wait staff in the dining room.:(
