We (3 of us) will be flying into FLL but our cruise leaves out of Miami. I was wondering how much a taxi would cost from FLL to Miami? Would a limo be more cost effective? How long does it take to get from FLL to Miami? Thanks!!

The ride from Fll to Miami cab would be around 75.00 It really depends on when you do it as traffic can be bad going to MIAMI. Also call your cruise agent and ask if they can get you transfers from cruise line. They have it sometimes last just look under limos and see what they charge. Parking at port is expenise so I use car service when I cruise. We have a cruise agency near Fll so we do that trip alot

Landed in fll needed cab to miami. Started to rent a limo but it was 11:00pm new years eve so that nixed that -about $100. Two adults and 4 kids cab ride cost us $120. I felt like they charged us more because it was late at night and there were few options. Needless to say I would try the limo first, you might as well travel in style. (it was a real limo but I can't think of the name of the company)

Thanks for the ideas. I just purchased airfare for our April cruise and found it was quite a bit cheaper to fly into FLL than MIA. So it will still be cheaper to either use a limo or taxi to take us to Miami than it would be to fly there. Now I just need to work on a hotel to stay at in Miami for our pre-cruise night. Any thoughts?? I was looking at the Embassy Suites in Miami but the reviews are not that great.

Cheapest way from FLL to Miami is usually either to rent a car or take Tri-County Transportation's shared van service... http://www.floridalimo.com/

They also have TownCars and limos, or you can also try Larry's Limo... http://www.larryslimo.com/

Both are reliable, reputable local companies... A taxi would be uncomfortable and very expensive! I would pass on those and go for a limo instead if you want to spend as much money as a taxi would cost.

No, Embassy Suites MIAMI is at the airport - Not one of their better hotels, and not in a nice location. Look for a hotel DOWNTOWN and you'll be much happier, as well as close to the Port of Miami. Here are a few I would recommend...

JW Marriott (VERY nice, my personal favorite, great AAA rates)... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miajw

Intercontinental... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ic/1/en/hd/miaha?irs=null

Hyatt Regency... http://miamiregency.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml

Biscayne Bay Marriott... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/miabb
