Scb71 Posted April 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2014 It's been a number of years since I have been to Monaco and Nice but will be there in a couple of months. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions and tips for transportation from the port in Monaco to Nice. We will be traveling with our luggage. I am not sure where the boat will be docked but it is Seabourn if that helps. We will be staying one day and night in Nice and then leaving the next morning to fly out. I assume we will take a taxi from the hotel to the airport but am not sure about that either. We are typically comfortable taking a train or a shuttle as long as it is doable with a few bags. A car would be great although I do not want to pay a couple of hundred dollars just to get from the port to the hotel. thanks in advance!
Rare Hlitner Posted April 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2014 Luggage does create some problems as it rules out using the local buses. So you seem to have two basic options. Either take a car (be it a taxi or a pre booked car/driver) or use the train. The train is a bit of a hassle since you would need to get a taxi from the port to the train station (across town), drag your luggage on the regional train, and then you would probably need a taxi from the Nice train station to your hotel. Not sure of the exact cost but an educated guess would be that a taxi from the Port of Monte Carlo to a Nice hotel will be approximately 80 Euros. cberge Posted April 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2014 I would take a taxi if I were you. You may berth close to The Casino as well so it will be easy to get one or the ship can call for you if you do not have to q with other pax. The hotel can call a taxi for you the next day.
