Including a fly out option in Juneau if possible. Any recommendations on options in these ports in late September? Thanks in advance.
dolittle Posted April 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Sept is ideal for salmon fishing I caught over 35 off the bridge in 2001 in Ketchikan . You don't need any excursion or guide just a fishing lic. and your own gear (a pack rod is best) . If you have any ques just ask on this thread . B.T.Y. they were pink salmon. deladypilot Posted April 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Hi Jennyprovo - We are on that cruise and my husband and son are looking at going fishing as well. We went last year and had a charter in Ketchikan. Loved the Captain and my husband has already spoke to him about going next year in September. He wont be making reservations until about a year out. If you decide to join this cruise, come on over and join our roll call. It is already moving along http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1985981
dolittle Posted April 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 9, 2014 (edited) Thanks Dolittle! Have you done any halibut fishing? No just salmon, once in Sept many pinks and then in the same place in june04 there were plenty of king salmon but they were a lot harder to catch. good luck Edited April 9, 2014 by dolittle

tigger_ag Posted April 10, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 10, 2014 We fished salmon in Skagway last year, but it was late August. We did a half day (4 hour) charter and caught some great fish that we had processed and sent home. There are several options for charters in Skagway, but to find out how the fishing is at that time, you may want to double check with them. We used McCormick Charters, but I know Fat Salmon is another company we considered as well. Kelly
IfishSitka Posted April 11, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2014 Sitka is hard to beat for all types of fish to catch. I fish there every summer in late August and have always caught Salmon, halibut, ling cod etc. Send a pm for charter recommendations,
