OldBoot Posted April 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Discovered this and it will be perfect for our one day pre-cruise in Athens. We haven't done any of these before and wonder what a typical guide gratuity might be? The tour is free, so want to be sure to thank the guide properly. GradUT Posted April 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Based on my experience and the feedback I have read on Trip Advisor about "Free Walking Tours" in other cities, I think that a tip ranging from the equivalent of USD 10 to USD 20 per person is the standard. kiwijohn Posted April 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Watch out for pickpockets in Athens. I had my iPhone stolen at the Acropolis car park. It was in my shirt pocket. The tour guide said hundred of phones are stolen each day in Athens.
OldBoot Posted April 10, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Thanks, yes it is always smart to be aware of your surroundings and take necessary precautions. So sorry to hear your phone was taken. That really puts a damper on a holiday experience. Sent from my HTC One X+ using Forums mobile app
