FoghornLeghorn Posted April 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2014 We'll be staying at the Captain Cook the night before our Southbound cruise. Taking Princess shuttle to embark. It shows an 8:00 pm departure. 1. Once we get to the port, will boarding be all afternoon? 2. What time do they do the Muster Drill for this late departure? 3. We have Anytime dining, do we just go like any other night? Or are there certain procedures for the first night with a late departure? 4. Normally we have our luggage after the Muster Drill...when should we expect our luggage on this cruise? Thanks!
Budget Queen Posted April 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Yes there is extended boarding. But I suggest you not be in any rush to get on the ship. Take advantage of some "Alaska" activity. The muster is prior to the ship leaving port. The anytime dining will be shut down at least an hour prior to the muster. It will be poster on your daily activity paperwork in your room. Your luggage will get there when it gets there. Sorry no way to predict.
DougH Posted April 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Once you sail don't be in a rush to head inside. The scenery on sailing from Whittier is some of the most spectacular on the cruise, stay outside and enjoy it. You can always eat later :) Last sailing I spent hours sitting aft and watching the scenery as it turned purple in the twilight. I was out until almost midnight watching the fantastic scenery sail by. This magical time is what brings me back year after year and after 20+ times it still doesn't get old
