Has anyone ever stayed at the Hotel Axel in Barcelona? My partner and I are booked on the Splendour of the Seas 10/16/04 cruise and would appreciate any comments. Thanks!

My partner and I stayed there in Jan.
It is a great hotel, friendly staff.
Loved the free bottled water in the hallways.
Upgrading to a superior gets you a jacuzzi (nice after long days of walking).

Thanks for the info! Looks like a first-rate gay hotel. Is it within walking distance to the Ramblas and attractions?

Yes, walking distance to most everything. Also close to train stations (not the main one) where you can catch the train for Stiges.
