Help! Traveling on allure with a teen!

We are on Allure in June with our teen daughter. Can someone help us with the locations of the Youth Zone Teen Areas on the ship . Where are the "Back Deck" deck space for teens, "Youth Spa" spa area for teens only, and the "Youth Fitness" fitness area for teens? What are the hours they are open? They are Highlighted as the teen areas but not in the deck plans???

Has anyone used the phone you rent for $30 p/day and where do you get it? I read some past reviews but they are at least a year or two old.

Her dad and I need to keep up with her!!!!!

First of all we have sailed with our now 19y/o DD when she was

The rules stay the same.

 

You must check in or leave a message on the room phone every other hour.

We will let you know where we are and you must find us on oppisite times, we will leave a message, pool, WJ, Casino

You may not go swimming, zip line, rock wall or boogie boarding with out our knowing.

You are not permitted in any one elses cabin.

No one is permitted in our cabin.

You may stay in the teens area as long as you want.

 

The ships curfew is the ships, ours in 1am.

When she was 13, she had to be with us.

You must be walked to the cabin or call your dad and he will come and get you (usually got the phone call about 12:56am)

 

You will eat dinner with us.

 

All ports of call are with us.........dont make plans with any ones families.

 

 

Also

Our cruise thread friends helps keeps tabs on all the teens, we got updates and sightings from all the parents.

 

We took a 8 x 11 picture of DD framed and left in our cabin so we remembered what she looked like:eek:

 

She had the time of her life, and we felt comfortable.

 

Now.............this year.

She is 19

Straight A's honors college at BGSU

She has showed us she is responsible.

 

Curfew is 3am.

She can be dancing in blaze or with friends on Promenade.

She must call if not there.

 

We do and have taken walks at night if not in these areas.... grounded, hasnt happened yet.

Thanks Sue. our DD has been on 5 cruises but never on a ship this size.

Did you post your DD's picture on the thread or just her description for followers to go by? I would like to know where those teen only locations I mentioned are located. The ship is so large I'm not sure where to get the

phones on the ship and maybe someone can share their experience with me.

It seems like an added layer of protection. DD follows our rules but girls in swimsuits walking down halls passing guys that have been drinking can keep a mother from relaxing.

Our daughter attended the M & M with us...........no excuse.

 

She met all the families we talked to on-line before sailing, and we met everyone elses children.

 

It was great.

 

We excused the kids early

 

And it was a great parental happening as everyone looked after everyone else.

My little busy bee, had the most sightings:eek:.........she was everywhere:D

 

And we knew most of them.

Thanks you everyone who responded. May I ask again if anyone that was able to get phones if they can recall the Dead Zones. I can request my DD be in a good reception zone when I need to meet up with her.

The phones are great we will be on the June 29th sailing with our two boys. Remember there are only 1000 phones from what I have been told and they cannot be reserved till you are on the ship. We found them very useful to remind them of the time and what time some of the events or other fun stuff was happening. They are great to lace the kids as well. When on Oasis we had the phone and noticed the one son was always hanging out in a certain hallway with his buddy who was also on the cruise. Come to find out it was outside the Bridge. Yeas they did get a tour and some great photos with the staff. The persistence paid off. You will wonder how a ship of this size just doesn't feel crowded at all. Cant wait till our next sail date on JUNE 29 2014.

In regards to taking a picture of your child............

You will not see your child often once they buddy up with all their age group on board.

Enjoyed all the posts! I'm new to the cruise boards, my DW is the expert on all things cruising! Here's the DH's view on son's rules for the cruise.

 

1. Dinner is always with us. This encourages conversation and finding out if he's having a good time and making good choices.

2. Check-in every two or three hours pending scheduled activities.

3. Absolutely not allowed in other cabins our to have new friends in our cabin.

4. Port days are family days, we make memories together! Sometime on private islands we would support him going on teen activities. On Cozumel we found a small silver shop and I bought him a ring, he wasn't expecting the purchase and I could tell he thought that was kind of cool. I see him wear it for special occasions. I enjoy watching my DW and son talk and joke around at the ports they relax me.

5. Each night is a little different so we would adjust curfew accordingly. He was back most night before curfew or would come and ask for an extension.

6. DS is a good teen and has shown responsibility, I try to provide as much freedom as reasonable on a cruise, but make expectations clear.

 

Most of the time I explain why my "rules" are important and that I trust him, but that sometimes things are not in his control and that knowing where and what he's doing, helps me to have a good time and have less concerns.

 

My DS loves cruising and making new friends and the cruise experience, just like his mother... Looks like I'll me touring the national parks alone:)
