Kittikate Posted April 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2014 I am interested in renting a car in anchorage and driving south towards Seward. What are the most worthwhile stops to hit on the way? And how many are feasible to do within a 12 hour span? I will also have a 2 year old with me. Thanks

Thanks Here's my favorites: The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center The tram at the Alyeska Resort The 1 hour glacier cruise on Portage Lake The various pull outs along Turnagain Arm The boardwalk at Potter Marsh The Begich Boggs Visitor Center at Portage The salmon viewing platform at the Williwaw Rec area at Portage The falls at McHugh Creek
Glaciers Posted April 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2014 Although more of pull offs along Turnagain Arm there is Beluga Point and Bird Point. Also, you can frequently see Dall sheep along the cliffs at Windy Point. This link will give you mileposts along the way. http://www.bellsalaska.com/myalaska/seward_highway.html http://www.alaska.org/guide/turnagain-arm-drive
