Celebrity used to play a song everytime you left a port, it was an instrumental that the band at the pool played and was really a beautiful song. I can't think of the name of it but I'm sure someone will come up with it. I think they stopped playing it around the turn of the century.

I hear "Booze Cruise" from Black Jack Billy every time we pull out of port. And trust me we are not heavy drinkers, but I love Patron margaritas on the rocks and there is a line about "hillbilly margaritas" makes me smile thinking about it now.

Thanks Rich, I think Conquest of Paradise was the one I was thinking about. Just played it on iTunes store, sounds familiar.

When I cruised Alaska many years ago with Crystal, they played "North To Alaska" every time we left a port on the trip. It was pretty cool!

The song was by Johnny Horton. He also sang "Battle of New Orleans" and quite a few other songs with historical backgrounds. He was killed in a car wreck in Texas in the middle of his career.
