susanlukas Posted April 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Hi you experience cruisers We are cruising on Taste of Italy this Thursday 24th and wondered if we are bordered about 11 ish which is what I sort of expect, can we get off and have bit of a time in Malaga as we don't normally see it, as it's normally just a fly in fly out. Even a walk around the harbour. Many thanks Susan
campolady Posted April 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) Hi you experience cruisersWe are cruising on Taste of Italy this Thursday 24th and wondered if we are bordered about 11 ish which is what I sort of expect, can we get off and have bit of a time in Malaga as we don't normally see it, as it's normally just a fly in fly out. Even a walk around the harbour. Many thanks Susan You will have plenty of time to go into Malaga centre - a great city. Try some of the best Tapas you will find anywhere at El Pimpi, El Jardin or Antigua Casa La Guardia - visit the beautiful Cathedral - wander the back streets where there are numerous little shops selling Flamenco dresses and local Silverware - visit the famous Picasso Museum - take bus no. 35 up to the castle for superb views - visit the Citadel (Alcazaba). The ship docks about 1.5km from the city centre (takes about 30 minutes to walk) but there is a frequent shuttle train from shipside to city centre that costs 3€. Once at the port main gates just cross 2 roads/5 minutes walk and you are in the heart of the old city. If you want to stay closer to the ship - just walk to the new Muelle Uno development within the port grounds - a good selection of shops and restaurants. Also within the port grounds - just up from the main entrance gates - is the older ferry terminal and in there is an excellent Tapas bar which is somewhere we visit every time we are in Malaga (roughly every month). You won' t be bored! Hope this helps. Edited April 22, 2014 by campolady

Have a great day and wonderful cruise.
