Cruise is Booked. What is the next step?

You will have a wonderful time on your first cruise! The train trip from B'ham is an all day trip and you will get to New Orleans after dark. This is fine for you to take the cruise out the next day, but really leaves you little time to see New Orleans. I believe the train leaves New Orleans pretty early in the morning, so I would advise not trying to make the return trip home on the day you get back to port from your cruise. The train trip is a great way to get to New Orleans and you will have a fun relaxing experience. Cabs are waiting out front at the station to take you to your hotel(we always need a multi passenger van) and it not very expensive. Look at the cruise line website and look at excursion options-we always pre book to save on having to do this after we board the ship.

Thank you. We are coming down the day before the cruise and leaving the day after. Train leaves at 7 am the day we arrive so definitely have to stay over a day. I have been to New Orleans on my honeymoon (24 years ago) and after Katrina to help with clean up. Looking forward to having a little time in the city.

As far as excursions I still haven't booked any because we can't decide what to do where
