Dawn Princess cabin P339 review

In a nutshell, avoid this cabin at all costs.

This cabin in an inside cabin situated on deck 5 on the starboard side of the ship. It's location is ideal and is well situated to the atrium, la patisserie, restaurants and coming and going from the ship on port days.

However, it has a generator or engine pump directly under the floor and this kicks in many times during the day and night. It only lasts about 30 seconds or so, but long enough to wake you from your sleep. It is that loud and strong, the floor vibrates and ear plugs do not block it out. In the dead of night, it sounds like a jet engine and is exceptionally annoying.

After many discussions with passenger services, it was revealed that it has something to do with the ballast of the ship and there is nothing they can do about it. Little comfort when you are on a 14 day cruise and they are sailing Full!!!!

Unless you specifically desire interrupted sleep, avoid this cabin at all costs.
